  "Gold Fields Limited says it has lost around 14,000 ounces of production as a result of week-long.....". This means Goldfields annually hauls away around 14000x52x$1500.00(average)= $1,092,000,000 (1 billion, ninety-two million US follars!!). What do the employees, the local communities, and the Ghana government get in return? Probably the 92 million, leaving a whopping ONE BILLION DOLLARS ANNUALLY. That is NOT a bad haul for about ONE MILLION dollar investment, is it?

  Anything negative will happen in that region always. So long as that people are anti moving forward, there is nothing that ever go well. Thank God that, they are not the only Ghanaians.

  What facilities are Gold Fields providing for the Community in which they having operating for the past years? It is appropriate that the workers went on strike to meet their demands and hope that in good faith the company provides such.
  
  Now in the Developed Countries, there is something called Corporate Social Responsibility - CSR, hence I posed the above question of all such foreign companies operating in Ghana to at least make effort to provide some kind of social amenities for the people in the various communities they operate in. This is a must in order to bring cohesion between these companies and the Community in general.
  
  The Government Ministers in-charge of all mining industries has to encouraged these companies to establish side by facilities for the people. Examples like Schools, Sports facilities and so on.
  
  I congratulate the workers of Gold Fields for been bold in taking their action. At least the company has listen to their grievances and hoping goodness come of their action.
