Amen to that. Ghana government plz listen to Japan and stop that nuclear energy shit you were thinking about. Solar is the way to the future and thank God, Ghana has more solar than we need to power the entire nation.

I have been using solar energy for about 20 years. It is cost effective. Soon I shall add a wind turbine. I harvest rain water also.

Doc. The nation is void with visionaries . Our only way of life is reaping each one off and leaving everybody destitute. Just imagine the total cost of this project was $7.6 million US Dollars and a swindler like Mr. Woyome was aided by the ruling government to run away with about $23 million Dollars which could have installed 3-times of this project for entire Tamale township which could have either partially or completely taken them off from the Nation Grid.

I have been saying more often that Northern and Upper Regions don't need to be on the National Grid but rather be on Solar Energy because the amount of Solar power in those areas are enormous to hold this project in tact. Just think of throwing GHC15 million about($7 million dollars) on Akonfem project not even thinking about Turkey project which is of international market. A nation with PHD holders in every field of study but cannot boast of one thing made in Ghana. Are we really serious - my answer is absolutely not.

Thank- you Japan. Solar energy is by far the best,safest, healthiest and environment-friendly energy. The Japan ambassador is perfectly right and we should use our plentiful supply of sunshine.

The problem is the initial costs of solar equipment and the need for regular cleaning of solar panels to prevent deterioration.

Also, the solar companies are based in Accra. They should set up branches in the regions to generate demand for solar facilities.

We must encourage our higher institutions to do research into alternative energy provision, including solar. One of the polytechnics said it had produced a solar panel. This must be developed commercially.

I endorse this comment. Why do we always want outsiders to think for us. Why are we always waiting for Ad money from a foreign country. The use of Solar energy for a country like GH is a no brainer and if politicians put the interest of the nation first instead of their selfish attitude, the country would be much better off by now. over 50 yrs post independence with so much resources and yet we still rely on some Foreign cash to support ourselves. We have a long way to go, if we will ever get there...
