I am getting concerned about our so-called Consultant(s) remarks about any state company that needs to be divest and make good profit. Any time they raise the question of either whole sale of part sale theese so called Consultants will come out and oppose it citing security reasons.
When are we going to free ourselves and make our economy grow???? What is the security threat in unloading part or some of the Government's share in GOIL??

They came to build oligacs and their personal fortunes. Selling off all state assets and they say Nkrumah did nothing for Ghana. They are at it again; as TOR goes so is Merchant Bank and now it is time to contain the only profitable organ of the state, GOIL. Eh, is this the PNDC/NDC party e knew? What's really wrong with Ghanaian politicians? I suspect that IMF and World Bank are behind this nonsense of selling GOIL. They know that dummies are running the country, so they can tell them to do anything, and they the dummies jump. IMF and WB officials go around the world to advice countries to sell they productive assets and foreign and local cronies steal the assets for pittance. They did the same thing in S. Korea and Kufuor too fell for that and sold AGC shares.

Who in his right mind would sell an asset that's making profits? Useless politicians running around calling themselves honourables. Nonsense. Ghanaians must wake up!!!

The opposition parties, the media and every sensible Ghanaian must oppose the sale of any state run enterprise that's making profits to the nation.

Dr Owusu-Ampofo, please champion the cause to stop the sale. The NPP sold gov't shares in Ashanti Goldfields and later an NDC finance minister Dr Duffuor came in and pleaded with the mining companies in Ghana to repatriate some of their profits back to Ghana. Oil is being extracted from our country, and the country owns less that 15% of the shares. What a bunch of pathetic people.

There is a precedent for this!!!

The Rawlings' NDC government sold the government's shares in Ghanacem, one of the most profitable companies in the country. The guy who advised the government to sell its shares, was also a consultant to the company (I have forgotten his name)

He was paid one million dollars by Ghanacem, while at that time working as a special advisor to Rawlings.

Can one imagine how much income the government has have lost since then?

The same thing is about to happen again. These politicians are selfish and greedy. To call them thieves will be paying them a compliment, for they are worse than thieves.
