  Typical Africans. When they throw a few peanuts and bananas at us, we then begin to jump around in uncontrollable ecstasy.
  
  When this oil agreement was signed a couple of years ago, it was publicly stated, according to their so-called scientific studies, that a minimum of 120,00 barrels was what they were going to extract from the ground per day. An agreement was even signed to that effect. However our obtuse leaders were exceedingly overjoyed with that even though our share was only 12% of the anticipated revenue.
  
  Instead, soon after operations begun and they started mining the oil after the usual pomp and pageantry which African leaders love so much, the expected and stated quantities begun to shrink drastically in measured progressions to public reaction. And since public reaction was at most cursory and bland, this went on to the extent that for most times between then and now, the declared extraction quantities has stood mainly between 60 and 90,000 barrels a day.
  
  Very clearly, this whole article was written with the intent of further fooling or at best confusing Ghanaians about what is really going on in the nascent oil industry. Those who are to stand up for interests are happily chewing the peanuts that have been thrown at them and they therefore don’t seem to understand what all the fuss is about.
  
  What is meant by "The Jubilee oil field has sustained its daily production of 110,000 barrels over the last three months."? 110,000 barrels is not an issue it was not the original bargain - and to brag about sustaining a shortfall amounts to an insidious intention to lie or cover something up.
  
  I dont think many people will be enthused about the statement that "Ghana’s oil production is expected to be more than double to 250,000 barrels a day by 2021." Those who are mining our oil – oops, sorry, rather it should read, those who are mining what used to be our oil but is now their oil, and giving us the small change, have continuously led us by the nose with these shenanigans which never materialize in our favor. We have seen it all. From gold, timber, bauxite, diamonds, manganese, oil palm, rubber, sugar cane, salt and others. What have we got from all these in the past 400 years since our white 'brothers' imposed themselves upon us?

  Once again the good Lord has shown Ghana his bountiful mercies by providing us with increased output of almost 50% from the Jubilee Oil Fields. Thanks to the good management practices. It is anticipated that the corresponding increased in revenue which will be added to the national purse will be put to good use for the benefit of the ordinary people of this country. Kudos to the management !
