But no nation (that is larger than an island or a city-state) can become economically developed solely by exporting raw materials for finished products or expensive services.

Ghana should have been economic power at least in Africa by now had past government followed the industrial and economic evolutions that Dr kwame Nkrumah initiated,at the time of his overthrow we virtually could produce most of our imports today but due to greediness ,corruption and lack of wisdom /vision our past leaders have let us down . Under Pndc/ndc governments most of these industries were sold out cheap to ndc party members whiles the private industries were forced to close up through high levy taxes ,until we start implementing the good industrial policies such as the one started by Dr Nkrumah we would import all our cosumption in 10yrs time.
