I was 16 years only when the then Ghana Lottery was taken over by the military and started placing military staff to manage a business that is neither military-based exercise requirement or add to the military intelligence enhancement of Ghana's Armed forces. It’s been over 40 years and no one , from Rawlings through other civilian administrations, and we continue to have retired military people run and manage a system that should be reserved for people with deserving backgrounds. Why do we think the lottery systems in other nations are successful only to find waning interest and participation of the public in Ghana? Could it be that what we offer for winning prizes are as pitiful as Ghana's armed forces staff engaged in arm robberies and beating of Ghana's women? Why can't our military stay in their barracks, practice to improve their intellect and sharpen their killing and or peace keeping skills?
