  Don't you know that Airports are built on flat lands? You could have been more sensible if you had refered to the northern parts of the country. By the way, are you OK?

  the need for a new airport in ghana is should be next biggest priority to the government but we have too many VIPs(vagabonds in power )and idiots who are will and ready to support any vividly stupid ideas.
  however,the new airport should be build completely out of the greater accra region.my preferred location should be up north or far east between the eastern and volta region.
  first the country needs a virgin place to build and make that airport a splendid one with all the modern facilities. i know most of the akans will say kumasi but building an airport in kumasi will bring the same issues that kia is facing because these chiefs are fighting over land and many more, so if ghana decides to build there ,there will limits in
  terms of runways and terminals.
  kotoka is taking passengers from allover ghana making the major regional highways death traps .these ministers and those responsible should wake up from their foolish and selfish
  ideas. from building in accra again because this will still create more congestion for those parts that are not congested which will lead to more problems in the nearest future.

  WE NEED DIVERSIFICATION. KUMASI IS THE SECOND BIGGEST CITY IN GH. OTUMFUO WILL OFFER THE LAND, NO PROBLEM. ITS ONLY A 4 HR DRIVE FROM ACCRA. WITH BETTER ROADS, THE TRAVEL TIME WILL DECREASE.

  I FOUND MYSELF ANDRY AND DISAPOINTED WITH THE SERVICES IN THE AIRPORT. TO MY DISMAY THE REST ROOMS WERE FILTHY. THEY WERE EVEN FILTHY IN THE BANK WHERE I WAS CONDUCTING BUSINESS. FIX THE EXISTING PROBLEMS YOU HAVE NOW. FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE LASTING. IMPROVE YOUR SERVICES AND EDUCATE THE AIRPORT WORKERS TO HELP TOURISTS INSTEAD OF PRETENDING TO BE IGNORANT AND BEHAVING AS IF THEY ARE DOING YOU A FAVOUR AND THAT YOU ARE DISTURBING THEM.

  You are right, the place is filthy and those in charge seem unconcerned because the airport is for Ghana. It is a shame to see our infrastructures breaking down and yet signing new contracts to build new ones.

Subway or undergrand train it is very costly and even advanced countries like China, US are all staying away if the there is the possibility of having overhead rails or street cars, much better. Times ar generally hard and therefore tough to source loans from traditional partners for such infustractural develpoment. It does not mater whether there is heavy vehicular traffic, a train corrider once is fenced wards off any potential dangers from pedestrans from causing accidents, though occasionally might be inevitable. Bottomline, good planning is all that matters and efficient maintance is the key word. Ghana should diversify in looking for loans and stop falling on China given the attendant dose of their heavy human capital they employ from their country and thus short chaining the host country with influx of undue man labor. Nothing is free in this world. China is now exporting migrants as a way to shed off the explosive population growth there. Watch out Ghana. The Russians have lots of money to loan out without exporting unwanted labor to the host country. They really helped Ghana at independence. Why is Mahama not so fond of the Russians, though he trainned there in the 1980s?

  Cheap things are costly in the long run. Case in point, see the impact of the Chinese galameseyers on our water bodies, potential cancerous diseases, "anchor babies" they will live behind; the social dislocations to the mothers and their communities are just a few to write here. The so-called $3bn is like ghost chasing a dangling bubble in the face of mahama's government and therfore unable to take swift decisions to weed them out. There is no free lunch any where in the world now because of EU austerity measures, US' economy bleeding from two wars and the dwindling fortunes of the Victorian-Elibethan empire or the lost empire. Look to Russia for assistance, Ghana. Old friends are the best.
