The slipping value of the cedi to major currencies is due to the poor management of the economy by Mahama's government. It is not due to the fears that there maybe a change in government .
Mahama's government is the most corrupt, most inept, most bastardized of all the governments Gh has had.
There is rampant financial malfeasance. Take a look at the GYEEDA report, Wayome , Isofoton, Guinea Fowl project, etc. Ghana is being looted left and right.

WHAT SMART GHANAIANS WILL DEDUCE FROM THE ABOVE COMMENT BY STUART IS THAT FOREIGN INVESTORS DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT UNREST IN GHANA. GHANAIANS CAN CONTINUE TO BUTCHER THEMSELVES TO DEATH. WHAT THE FOREIGN INVESTOR IS MORE INTERESTED IN IS HIS EXPLOITATIVE PROFIT AT THE END OF THE DAY, NOT ABOUT UNREST IN GHANA.
THE BLACK MAN WILL CONTINUE TO BE DUMB AND POOR, AS LONG AS WE CONTINUE TO ENRICH WHITE RACISTS.
GHANA LEADERS MUST LEARN FROM THE MEXICANS, ROBERT MUGABE'S ZIMBABWE, AND HUGO CHAVEZ OF VENEZUELA. ALL OF THESE LEADERS BELIEVE IN THE "CAN DO" NATURE OF THE BLACK MAN IN THIS 21ST CENTURY.

The issues confronting the economy of the country is one of mismanagement, corruption, fiscal indiscipline, a monumental lack of competence at the finance ministry and a gov't team, which is ready to sacrifice all the precautions in the books economically to stay in power at all cost. " We had to do what we had to do politically" a quote from a deputy minister of finance then and a current minister of state of finance and allied services, as to what that even means, nobody knows.
Here is a gov't team, that exhibited such gross recklessness, bordering on criminality in paying dubious and fraudulent judgment debts, created vehicles and conduits to siphon state cash via GYEEDA and a host of others, including NADMO, in the very last quarter of 2012, effectively throwing the economy, which had been experiencing huge hiccups, further out of gear and sputtering uncontrollably by sheer incompetence, unmitigated ineptness, gargantuan corruption and looting, outright thievery and legendary mismanagement unprecedented in the annals of history of governance in the country.
The needed infrastructure and policy interventions that should have been put in place after the Mills-Mahama and now Amissah Arthur administration took over in 2009, were sadly thrown out of the window and in it's place, impunity and propaganda, lies and deceit took the better part of the administration.
It would be recalled that with the attainment of lower middle income status, gov't was no longer going to enjoy the aid, grants etc, etc, that were hitherto dripping into the country, and therefore, gov't needed to be circumspective and prudent with inflows from oil proceeds, record high gold prices and again record cocoa prices, as well as increased internal revenue mobilization, but that was not to be.
Naturally, many an investor would not sink his hard earned resources into a country exhibiting such unproductive activities on the finance and economic front, and in this regard, the NDC administration has failed woefully to steer the economy in the right direction and Ghana, is the eventual loser from such ineptness, incompetence, corruption, thievery, plain looting of the national kitty, needless propaganda, lies, deceit, and managerial competence gone awry under the Mills-Mahama-Amissah Arthur administration.

I don't think you understand what you have written and its implications!! First, if new elections are to be held who is to organise them? Is it the same Electoral Commission and its Chairman who have been vilified since the announcement of the 2012 elections? Surely, there will be a change and the incoming members of the Commission will take some time, which will be more than three months or even a year to be ready for new elections. Furthermore, think of the cost to Ghana and the volatile state of affairs that will lead to the elections. It is my view that no new elections are ordered or, even, the results of the last elections overturned. We should all think first of Ghana and not of individuals and their ambitions.
