I totally agree with the writer.to ban the chainsaw lumber is impossible.because almost 90% of lumber curently selling on the local market is chainsaw lumber. ask me if goverment get pesewa from it, the anser is big no. so why that?.because it is illigal the goverment has no right to take tax from it. so the offices, (from the managers to the forest guides) take advantage of the situation and take bribe from the chainsaw oprators and alloud them to carry on with their oprations. I agree with the writer if the chainsaw oprator can get permit to oprate, I think the forest officer or the forest guide or the police or even the so called taskforce can no more take bribe from chainsaw oprations. so the right tax can be taken. instead of the money going to the individual pocket.also the permit holder should be force to plant trees to replace the once that he harvest.

Despite, them taking it illegally without paying anything to the government. it will also create jobs for the rural folks. i also suggest that chain saw operators be registered and given lincense to enable them operate within a concession area for a particular period.
