I agree that the tax exemption should be restored. There are lots of Ghanaians who can't get access to tertiary education in the country. The private Universities have helped bridge the gap. Thus they can use the retained earnings to expand their institutions. For the next decade, at least, private Universities should be tax exempt.

Just don't declare any profits that can be taxed by the government. Period! I have already said that this policy of the government is not only stupid but utterly myopic.

Even universities with huge billion(s) dollar endowments are not taxed because they use the money for researches and grants for foreign and needy students etc.

Even universities with huge billion(s) dollar endowments are not taxed because they use the money for researches and grants for foreign and needy students etc.
This government is so broke or whatever that they want to tax anything including condoms. Instead of seeing the private universities as partners they are going to penalize them, what the government needs is better oversight of those private universities so they meet the required standards or accreditation.

All in society must be made to pay tax to upgrade everything in the system. We as a society cry for roads, hospitals, water and the rest. We just want to enjoy without paying the tax that is used to provide these things.
We as a people should stop blaming government when things don't work as it should but don't want to pay the tax needed for such.
We must wake up as a society to make people aweare that taxes are used for devolpement of the community at large.
