There was a time before Rawlings that Tamale had two big rice mills and Tamale was known as rice city. That was during the 1970s and all of Northern Ghana was engaged highly productive rice farming. I think that is were the emphasis should be. There is no need trying to start a new crop production such as sugar cane when the people know nothing about sugar cane farming. Please do not waste these resources in an attempt to re-invent the wheel. Enough is enough!

@ Titugri. rice farming sounds good but with gov't eager to revitalise the Komenda Sugar factory, sugar must be available at all times for processing. think that's the idea.

This is the first and only good news to come from SADA. If SADA is there for the common good of northern communities, then put irrigation dam in each constituency in northern ghana. They will build their own houses from incomes generated, trees and forest belts will naturally grow from the dams. NOTE: No investor will use the feasibility studies or business plans drawn up by SADA to commence any project in the north. Those expenses are a sink hole and of no value to any northerner, except the persons benefiting from rhe fees.
