Those of us on fixed income will suffer most in the face of these increases. Our condition of living will worsen and government should be ready to face agitations from workers. For business people, they will pass on these costs to those of us who patronise their goods and services.
The TUC has been very docile for my liking. It has to adopt very strong and uncompromising position if the need calls for it especially in this case. This is an organisation which has workers mandate to seek their interest and it need not fail.
I wish to remind the TUC that some of the foreign expatriates who own business in the country maltreat their Ghanaian employees without anybody fighting their case for them. It is not only money which matters to workers but also the condition of service under which they work.

It is good that TUC is meeting its constituencies to decide on which action to take. However, it is not good for the leader to engage in rhetoric. It is not good enough to say that the increase is way beyond what workers can bear. Give empirical data and values to substantiate this. it is good that the tariffs are increased so that we can appropriately demand quality service from the providers. Those who are thinking of going on demonstration, I suggest they rather use those energies to think to see how they can find some good work to do to earn enough income to pay for the increased tariffs. In this way, we can improve upon our quality of life. "Invent".
