Too bad a smart guy like Akuffo Addo is not the president. He would have figured this one out. Mahama is clueless, lost. God help Ghana

  Please, when you are reporting, you have to be fair in your analysis. what are the duties of the smuggled country if ghana charges 37 % in taxes? Remember, the fundamental fact about your so call investigative journals rest on the fact that the rice is cheaper in that country than ghana because of the import duties. else, it is also an importing nation? Why are you so disingenuous to economic forces? granted that, it cost to ship the rice to ghana and your assumed bribe paid there will be nothing left to encourage smuggling. Our local rice is cheaper and more nutritious and ghanaians will buy the local produced rice if imorted rice is expensive.

I. COAST AND GHANA ARE THE LARGEST PRODUCERS OF COCOA IN THE WORLD SO WHY DON'T THEY TEAM UP WITH FERTILE LAND IN BOTH NATIONS WITH MECHANIZED FARMING THEY CAN FEED AFRICA AND THE WORLD.   i can buy 10-25 pound bags in usa for $9 (18 cedi) And most time in usa the bigger the bag, less price per pound due to less packaging materials and labor..Apply to most all things..A 1 liter bottle of coke can cost same as 2 ...

Saving and current accounts must have yearly statement sent to the IRS like America so that saving interest is taxed!
