  It is one of the numerous industries established during Nkrumah's nine year rule from 1957 to 1966.It was first known as State Distilleries Corporation and later merged with other factories after the 1966 coup to form GHANA INDUSTRIAL HOLDING CORPORATION(GIHOC).Not even a single passes without remembering Nkrumah's handiwork.Kwame Nkrumah lives.

Sadly only Nsawam cannery and distilleries are left because 'yaa nom' needed to pour their libations and sip their nkrante bini soups, yet vociferously denounce scientific research, improvement of livelihoods for every one or manifest level mindfulness.   State industries can do better than private industries if government of the day stop putting members of families and friends as CEO's who knew that either 4years or 8years will loose his or her job if a new president comes to power so the opportunity is that the time to steal and is "aban ajuma obi a ba saa anti ma men di bi na se ye be pam me a man ye kwasea an ma be di ohea"This is our problem.Am keeping my eyes on GIHOC to see if MAHAMA will remove the CEO who has done marvellously well from her post and put his family member there.I will not write what i want to write until it happen and he will regret for doing that.

  Both GIHOC and GOIL has proven that state or tax payers industries and business can turn around and do better to increase production hired more workers and create several service jobs.Am ask parliament to stop Mahama and this chief thief Seth Terkper to stop Divestiture state businesses and industries and pass legislation that will allow parliamentarians to hired CEO's by placing ad's in the news papers or on the web seeking for quality men and women who think they are capable and have the got or can do spirit to turn things around to make profits to be CEO's and vet them to see if they have the qualities and capable to be CEO's and perform.Also parliament must pass a bill to stop any government in power to appoint boards and CEO's for state institutions,industries and businesses and allow these institutions, industries and businesses elect their board members so that they can fired and non performing board member or the CEO.If Ghanaians may recall TOR said they can perform better than GOIL when GOIL turn things around and state paying dividence to Government and if Government stop imposing CEO's and board members on them to serve government interest.Ghanaians lets go to the to demonstrate to force Mahama to stop divestiture of our industries so that those who has the can do spirit and want to perform and leave a legacy for the unborn to come and appliciate the legacy their forefather leave for them to come and continue their legacy and from generation to generation to come .
