Does it not make sense that a farmer in Dormaa or Elubo will find it more prudent to smuggle his cocoa across the border to ivory coast where each sack values far more than it is bought by pbc in Ghana even after the cost of going there and all. The solution is simple, lets cocoa be bought by pbc as it sold elsewhere then who will smuggle? Nobody cares about patriotism anymore. we wil continue to sell to the highest bidder. tweaaaaaa

Good point, Nana. Politicians and Managers in Ghana govern and manage by rhetoric and blame. We just do not have the human resources to do anything right. Cocoa smuggling is not new and every new person at cocobod spews out the same drivel about stopping smuggling. Never happens because they do not know how. We lack experience, we lack commitment and honesty, we lack the courage to even admit we do not know how and that we should seek help. SAD, SAD, SAD.

This man makes me laugh with this statement. He sits on the ivory tower in Accra and thinks he can halt cocoa smuggling to neighbouring countries. Cocoa smuggling from Ghana started in the 60's.

Chief, I believe you have the opportunity of browsing the archives of your outfit in respect of such threats and warnings. You would recall the Anas Saga and the implication of certain officer of National Security. What happened? I hope you have not given these promises to solicit for the support of the already down trodden farmers.
1. When was the last time the producer price was increased?
2. Why and when will the bonus of the farmers be paid? The details are all available and you may therefore not need anytime to study. The experts to advise are also abound at the Secretariat.
3. All sorts of promises have come from the government with the blessing of COCOBOD to ensure that farmers have some form of pension scheme. It has become nightmarish is like chasing the whirlwind.
4. Farmers should be paid their bonus before that of the COCOBOD staff in each year. GOD BLESS GHANA
