Moody's clearly puts the blame squarely on the shoulders of government. Its the debt, borrowing and inflation that is killing killing the economy. Lets sit up and act.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The U.S. national debt is now about 73% of gross domestic product, the Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday. The percentage of debt is higher than any point since around World War II, and twice the percentage it was at the end of 2007, the nonpartisan agency said in its long-term budget outlook. If current laws stay in place, debt will decline "slightly" relative to GDP over the next few years, the agency said. But it warned that growing future deficits will push the debt to 100% of GDP 25 years from now.

The government is doing what it can to stabilize the Cedi even though the government did not cause it. Ghana with rich land continues to import food. People prefer imported chicken over organic chicken grown in Ghana, Ghanaians prefer "Holland print" to the Ghanaian prints. Ghanaians quote prices of goods and services in Dollars and turn around to blame the government. Now the government wants to reduce dollarization of the economy and still people complain. Ghanaians don't want to do construction work at night, blame Chinese for treating them like slaves so the Chinese import workers at more expensive price to Ghana and people complain. The economic problems of the country is caused by the people in the country in addition to external forces few Ghanaians understand. The fall of Gold price from $1900 to about $1200 an ounce, the fluctuation of prices of other commodities are not the fault of the government. What can an average Ghanaian do to help.
1. Be productive in whatever you do 2.Value and patronize local food and goods
3. Produce more than you can consume and export the rest to the less fortunate countries in West Africa.
4. Spend Cedis
5. Importantly no one can do any of the above alone so develop the attitude of helping each other to succeed not pulling anybody down.
6. Learn to help current government to succeed instead of trying to discredit it hoping that people will vote the current government out for a new one who will do the same thing- again the pull him down effect in the largest scale. The country does not belong to any political party and none should think they are the only ones that can "rule"
