The question is the local wokers of schlumberger been paid by the company direct or by local labore contractor?Schlumberger is an international oil service company that takes good care of their workers all over the world,but in Ghana everything is different.There is corruption every where in the society,so I think the local workers are not enjoying the sweat of their labore,but instead some-one is enjoying their sweat money in complicity with GNPC and Petroleum commission.So the local workers should fight with their company so that they can be paid direct,instead of been paid by these roque agencies.They can never survive by working under the local agencies.They should force shlumberger to take them from the agencies and treat them direct.

I have worked with Schlumberger in London in 1980/81. It is a very good company to work with. I will be surprised if the paymasters are staff of Schlumberger direct. I think there could be middlemen fiddling with the employees wages.

Chrispine should be called to order,He should be happy to be employed by Schlumberger,he never study Engineering but yet they allow him to work as Engineer/Technician.I believe the Ghanaians worker have legitimate right to ask for more wages but never compare it with your fellow expat,their job in Ghana is only temporary,they left all the comfort in their home country and family to work in Ghana and filled the experience gap due to inexperienced ghanaians workers at Schlumberger (6 yrs old in Ghana)I expect Chrispine and Charles should know expat alway earn more when on international assignments as both of them have once had the privilege to be on international assignment even other ghanaians in Angola,Malabo,Tunisia and Nigeria etc earn more than the locals in these countries.
An expat earn more because you are away from family,comfort,no overtime,expected to work 24 hours if need be and security situation etc

Stop being economical with the truth. There are a lot of expat living here with their wives and children. When a Nigerian is transferred back home, he cries like a baby. All because here is the best place to live.

You call Takoradi best place to live ? you must be from the bush.
Any expert going back to local contract always feel bad,even Ghanaians in Port harcourt feel same way too.

I know my fellow Ghanaians deceive higher wages but please please do not compare your pay with expats,standard of living determines the wages of an expat in Schlumberger. To live in Takoradi for an average family can cost about 3000 USD/month but for an European is about 6000 USD/month.Even among expat your nationality determines your wages, expats are like footballer same job but different wages.Remember Schlumberger is just a servicing company when the contractS seizes heads will roll.
