Reduce the number of public employees, cut down on the number of ministers and deputy ministers, consolidate the ministries, reduce the number of redundant oversight authorities and reduce the number of parliamentarians. Ghana does not need these many MPs. That is how you can cut down on public spending. If you do not do that you cannot blame the commodity prices. We are blessed with a lot of natural resources but we cannot refine the resources before exporting them. Why cant the government help Valco to produce their own electricity so they can produce at full capacity. We already have the bauxite. Do you know how many people can be employed and the foreign exchange that it can earn Ghana exporting alumina instead of raw bauxite. Why can we refine our manganese instead of exporting the raw material. Why can we have gold refineries and diamond polishing factories in Ghana. Why can the government insist on the gold mining companies to set up gold and diamond refineries in Ghana and transfer the technology to Ghanaians b they are given the concessions. It is very frustrating that there are so many things the government can spearhead but they are not doing it. Why! Why! Enough of the talk and lets come together to demand accountability from the government.
