Isn't there a way to bring forward a declaration of no confidence in the current government to bring forward new elections? I am sure some countries have done this before and all within the legal framework so that we don't mess up any relations with countries that we do business with. The last thing we need is to ruin such opportunities and maintain our fine democratic status.

Am sure Australia, Israel and Nepal or TAMIL have taken these steps recently. At least this can produce a coalition government of sorts so that no one party can just mess up. It should bring some cohesion.

There is definitely a constitutional possibility as o this, but then the motion of no-confidence would have to be brought by the opposition and be carried by the majority, I'm not sure in the case of the Ghanaian constitution ...

All the same it wouldn't help because the ruling party has the parliamentary majority and are definitely not going to vote themselves out of power?? We just have to wait for the next elections!!!

The same wrong thing happened when Ghana allowed Jerry Rawlings to lurk around for 2 decades.
