  Ghana is in a mess.Do you need the World Bank to help you revise your own laws?Where are the Makola-trained lawyers?
  Instead of the NPP making unwarranted noise most of the time,why don't they review all these Queen Victoria era laws,which are of no relevance currently, in order to modernize them?
  Ghana looks so backward to me.Why is it so?What is the problem?
  It is a matter of 'googling' mining laws in other countries and adopting what are suitable in our situation, writing bills and presenting them to the Speaker for a debate on the floor.
  I mean the INTERNET is making dumb people smart.With the internet,one can learn how to land a rocket on the moon,except that you may never experience the practical aspect.
  How can you make Ghana better if you cannot research new ways of doing things?

  Gold --- $1400 per oz
  Diamond --- from $1500 to $150,000 per carat (Market price)
  Bauxite --- $150 per mt
  Manganese --- $450 per tonne
  
  Akyem districts make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region.
  
  Even though today diamond production from Akyem has stopped temporarily Akyem districts must be given their fair share of projects. Discrimination against Akyems districts has been going on for at least the last forty years. A visit to the Akyem districts would indicate the poor state of districts: bad roads, poor infrastructure. The state of the districts is not reflective of the revenue they have contributed over the last 100 years.
  
  People do not know that Akyems and Ashantis are two different groups of people but they are all Akans.and existed as two different states about 150 years ago.
