If the US$20 billion loan contracted since 2009 has done nothing to our economy, what can a mere US120 million Heritage Fund do for Ghana? The NDC Looting Brigade has eaten all the meat and now wants to swallow the bone !!!

Let Ghana put the voting out of the NDC gov't at the ballot box on the national agenda, or better still, a call for fresh elections immediately.
From what the Veep is saying, are Ghanaians to assume that the contents of the stabilization fund have already become amenable to the intricacies of their unrepentant penchant for thievery and looting, for which reason, the heritage fund, a very well thought through investment fund to cater for the unborn generation, when our oil resource is depleted, should come under the sledgehammer, under the itchy fingers of the Mahama/Amissah Arthur led NDC gov't?
In any case how much is the heritage fund and how much has been looted by the Mahama family and friends looting brigands?
It is clear Ghana should put the massive voting out of the Mahama/Amissah Arthur NDC gov't out of power on the national agenda.

Touching on the depreciation, Vice President Amissah-Arthur explained that “depreciation is not always as bad as some people may want us to believe.” He said the structure of the economy was such that the cedi must depreciate for the economy to remain competitive.
For export sector to be sustained, domestic currency must depreciate against other currencies. Stable cedi will make exports cheaper than imports but the fall must not be too fast,” the Vice President noted.
I CAN'T BELIEVE A VP WHOSE GOVERNMENT IS NOW TRYING TO PROMOTE GHANAIAN INDUSTRIES & BUYING "MADE IN GHANA GOODS" CAN SEE THAT HAVING SUCH THOUGHT THE DEPRCIATION OF THE CEDI IS GOOD & FORGETTING THAT THAT IS VERY BAD FOR GHANA INDUSTRIES THAT MAINLY DEPEND ON IMPORTATION OF RAW MATERIALS AND ADD ON MATERIALS FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF "MADE IN GHANA GOODS" WOULD BE ABLE TO SURVIVE IN THE CURRENT GLOBAL COMPETITION THAT CRITICALLY DEPEND ON COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE, LOWER COST OF PRODUCTION & SELLING GOODS IN A COMPETITIVE LOWER PRICES- IN THE GLOBAL WORLD WHERE THERE SEEM TO BE NO BORDERS NOW IN TRADE ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!
VP YOU ARE VERY WRONG....NO WONDER NDC'S MANAGEMENT OF THE ECONOMY IS IN BAD SHAPE!!!!!!

Have u forgotten that if the cedi fall govt revenue loses value how do u achieve your expenditure? i dont want to say u are ignorant of the effect of a weak cuttency. when the cedi loses value then our sweat is in vain becausd yr bank account loses value too. is the cedi fall that has cripple the economy. i totaly disagree with what the vise said. u should go out of power with this idea. we need strog currency to improve our purchesing power n creat jobs.

Depreciation is not always bad for the economy. It rather encourages other countries to increase their imports of Ghanaian goods. However, in this situation it is bad for our economy because we don't produce enough products. As demand for our products increase, prices would rise up in the long run. A country like china uses this strategy. They keep cost low, and currency weaker in order to induce imports from other country. Plus they have large market shares. Ghana cannot afford this kind of strategy.
