  The environment will be saved. We make nothing form mining anyway, except low paying labourer jobs and bribes to government officials.

  Did you hear him mentioning Botswana, Zambia, Chile and Peru? These countries are making at least 50% on post production of mining, whiles Ghana makes a mere 5%

  Diamond (from the Akyem in the Eastern Region) --- 2,633,527 ct
  Bauxite (from the Western Region) --- 333,458 mt
  Manganese (from the Western Region) --- 596,572 mt

  Gold --- $1400 per oz
  Diamond --- from $1500 to $150,000 per carat (Market price)
  Bauxite --- $150 per mt
  Manganese --- $450 per tonne
  
  Akyem districts make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region.
  
  Even though today diamond production from Akyem has stopped temporarily Akyem districts must be given their fair share of projects. Discrimination against Akyems districts has been going on for at least the last forty years. A visit to the Akyem districts would indicate the poor state of districts: bad roads, poor infrastructure. The state of the districts is not reflective of the revenue they have contributed over the last 100 years.

  Government should learn from countries in the mining industries during these hard times. Goldfield should collaborate with government in this stead.

  If processing cost abroad proves too high,to compound their problems,why not taking advantage in cheaper labour force,Africa can provide,offer?

  If processing cost abroad proves too high,to compound their problems,why not taking advantage in cheaper labour force,Africa can provide,offer?
  Can't they train people in AFRICA to process these GOLD,DIAMOND etc,at a cheaper cost,before exporting the finished products?
  THEY THINK WE ARE FOOLS.
  Now they are paying what they have never thought of before.
  LET THEM PACK AND GO,SO WE CAN PRESERVE OUR NATURAL RESOURCES FOR OUR FUTURE CHILDREN.
  Our lands have been degraded to the worst state and we are still begging them to stay.
  They have cheated us for far too long a time,and it's about time we started considering lots of things,options before we issue our lands to these crooks.
  3% for our GOLD?
  NO SIR.
