FROM BOTH SALTPOND AND JUBILEE POINT. MR. GOVERNMENT IN MY OWN SMALL KNOWLEDGE I KNOW THAT THESE PETROLEUM COKE ARE USED TO TAR ROADS AND MANY OTHER INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENTS. IF THE GOVERNMENT IS GIVING OUT THESE BLACK SOIL TO THOSE EXTRACTING COMPANIES PLEASE THEY SHOULD STOP NOW!! (AFTER READING THIS PIECE). CHANGE THIS CONTRACT AND KEEP ALL THESE PET COKES FOR ROAD AND OTHER INFRASTRUCTURES IN COUNTRY. DON'T SELL THEM.

  Borrowing from donors is a NO-GO AREA. Levying and taxing is ALSO a NO-GO area right now. So what you do is to dig deep and allow the people to till and exploit the land resources in YOUR CUSTODY and in the custody of Chiefs so that they can generate resources for you to tax without problems. Common sense. Don't ship land resources to foreign companies to exploit and turn round to tax us when we are not generating any value as foreign companies are being facilitated to do. Don't do that. If you do that, people will become poorer

  Every agency in Ghana demands more money to do what they are established to accomplish. They never own up to the fact that poor performance could be due the presence of inefficiencies and wastage in their organizations. Clearly therefore Ghana could easily solve 40% of its problems if all government agencies could be made to account for how they used the funds already allocated to them before dosing additional funds out to them. Financial auditing alone is not enough. Agencies must undergo periodic program evaluation reviews, competitiveness reviews and alternative service delivery reviews. Recommendations from these reviews will support continuous business improvements without necessarily increasing the size of the budget.
