It is really sad to see the Refinery in this state . Having work there for about three years and left for the US early 2000 and now I work as a Reliability Manager with one of the Largest Chemical company in the world base in US.
I will be more than happy to help free , TOR has a lot of resources in terms of man power, is just the matter of restructuring. It just the matter of developing strategies and execute this at regular interval.
If the minister can contact me I will plan a two weeks vacation to Ghana and meet with the site leadership .

I worked in the refinery for 8 years and also had a brief stint with SK Petroleum Corporation in South Korea, producing 1 million barrels per staright day. The refinery needs to be run as a proper business, and benchmarked against similar refinery's in terms of capacity so as to ensure optimisation. The current crop of guys are just milking the system. Fixed costs are just too astronomical...

Hon. Minister we are not saying you should advertise TOR for outright sale. TOR has surplus human resource. TOR is capital intensive and no amount of money Government pumps into will turn TOR around. What TOR needs now is PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP. period. What are you afraid of Hon. Minister. This idea of partnership has been there over the years but successive governments have ignored it for fear of blame. Believe you me the same members in opposition who will talk will turn around and do it when they are able to come to power. Any amount of money given to TOR now will be used to pay salaries. One cargo of crude oil is about $60 million; this will be processed within 2 weeks at a loss. This is because the plants need maintenance. Has Government enough money to buy crude oil. Which charitable firm will use $60 million dollars to purchase crude for TOR to process at a loss. Are you aware that TOR debt is piling up as a result of non funding. Please help TOR from total collapse. You and I know that any institution owned by Government is not run properly. Find out what is actually going on at TOR; you have neglected TOR for far too long. Collecting salaries for no work done. Why are the BDCs doing well and TOR is collapsing. Government can partner Ghanaiancompanies not necessarily foreign companies. The time is now, please save TOR from total collapse. Thank you and God bless Ghana.
