AGC WAS REALLY DOING WELL until they merged with Anglogold which according report has a history of colapsing other well performing mining company.I remember at the time of the negotiations,Rangold quoted much more than Anglogold but Anglogold eventually won the merger deal.they promised to do much for the Obuasi Township but nothing has been done in terms of infrastraucture.They promise to improve the Obuasi government hospital as part their coperate responsibilities but nothing no even a single ward for the hospital.I wish the govermnent of the day will go into this deal.God have mercy on mother Ghana

To help you in your research, look for Rattray's book to read. Hmm! It was considered beneath a proper Asante to pick a gold nugget if it fell from his hand, so a slave must be handy to pick it up for him. Just a hint.

As for the Malian and Ghana/Songhai Empires, the least said about them the better.

Kufour di the same with Ghanatelecom when he gave it to vodafone on an agreement vodafone drafted in London. Please stop surface mining.

I believe it is better to preserve our limited forests, rivers and streams and live in poverty than to destroy all for money that cannot alleviate our problems.

Obuasi does not replicate the status of a golden town. They talk about billions of dollars of revenue coming from this company but the city does not reflect the riches it portrays and it's a shame.

We do not need big scale or industrial Galamsey. We should rather develop our Agric sector, AGRO-PROCESSING, VALUE CHAIN ADDITION IN ORDER TO INCREASE REVENUES OF OUR LOCAL FARMERS. We should also develop our industrial sector.
