  The GSS does a good job producing inflation indices which are required for socio-economic planning and monitoring the performance of the economy.
  
  GSS must continue to produce reliable, timely statistics and disseminate this widely for public consumption.
  
  The role of GSS is enshrined in the constitution. GSS must fulfil its public duties and assert its independence by resisting any attempts to influence its work from internal or external sources.
