If the demand for the used Refrigerators are high enough to induce the sellers to risk continue selling them, then the Government must relax the duties on importation of brand new ones into the Country so that the dealers could afford to profitably trade in them, and not encumber the buyer with too large a bill, either.
Most of the time, our Authorities restrict the number of Agents importing such goods to a ridiculously low, enabling the importers to enjoy a near monopoly and imposing exhobitant prices that many cannot afford.
If there is a more open access to purchase new Refrigerators at reasonable prices, folks would gladly do away with or reject used ones. Help the small entrepreneurs in rural areas get access to moderately priced Refrigerators that they can sell easily to make profit that can sustain their businesses.
I hope that accessibility would discount all the suspicions that the Government is enforcing that ban because it only wants the few local manufacturers, that some of its members have special relationships with, grab all the Market for the Refrigerators in the Country.
