You should be warning Mr Mahama on yet another economic misadventure.The government of Ghana does not have unlimited resources to go into sugar production.Private enterprise should be the ones to re evaluate the commercial potential of the Komenda sugar factory. venture.This is no different from Ghana Airways, the sinking Tor or Valco.This is another feel good news item that will turn into a heartbreak for a nation that cant seem to understand the meaning of self-hurt. The clear winners here will be the banks providing the finance,they will get their money back, but Ghana will continue to import sugar for the same reasons as before. Our failure to understand the way the world of business enterprises operate!

“A board needs to be put in place, which should be a public-private board. This will constitute representation from key ministries and the sectors as well as representatives from civil society organisations and the private sector. That needs to happen right away,” Ms. James said.

“Once the board is in place, it will be working to hire staff. This will be a competitive process and needs to get started right away in order to move forward with the implementation."

Well said, Nii. This guy is delusional. The citizenry are suffering because of this government inability to pay Companies, Enterprises and certain individuals for supplies and products. This is what has resulted in the unceasing hunger and suffering of Ghanaians. Now he comes out with this deceptive strategy to deceive Fantes in voting for him in 2016. What Mahama is not telling the Fantis is that, this is a loan from Indian with 'strings attached'-meaning, Komenda sugar factory would just be a name with Indians controlling the day-to-day activities of the said sugar factory with the mean intention of siphoning all the profits they could get in establishing the company in Ghana with 2-3% to the people of Ghana with respect to sales at the end of the fiscal year. I want the people of Komenda to think very deeply before being enthused, because if they are not very careful, they may be laughing at the wrong side of their mouths when the company is finally establish in their territory.
