  Some of us were compelled to go to foreign banks because the Ghanaian banks lack innovation. If you open a cedi acct in GTbank, they automatically create an offshore acct for you which will receive any foreign remittances to ur acct. I wonder if GCB have the guts to do that, if the do, I will be with them.

  If their was no profit Nigerian and South Africa Banks would not be rushing in..Every headline i read is about rural banks making 150%-200% profit..Only oil companies make that in USA!!!!

  Our banks lack innovation. All they do is have people put their monies in the bank and make profit on it. An outmoded way of banking. What we call 'SUSU BANKING'. They cannot compete nor survive, because people have realized that they will benefit more if they change their money into dollars and euros.

  In civilized nations where competition and exemplary management tend to set efficient banks/financial institutions apart from the not so good banks, management at banks and financial institutions tend to introduce into their portfolio new products each year. The devalued cedi at this time is the right time in Ghana for banks and financial institutions to make long term loans more readily available for potential borrowing. For as the cedi starts to recover, the outstanding monthly loan payments borrowers have to make will bring in more value than current value of the cedi.

  I know for sure that some of the banking institutions are making lots of profits by taking high interest rate from Ghanaian workers and ordinary citizenry. I went for loan of an amount Ghs 3.0000 and do u know how much am to pay monthly? Ghs267 is deducted from my salary every month for good three years!!!!They take advantage of ur situation so if the cedi is depreciating they have to bear with it
