It appears the bank of Ghana is now a Branch of the government in power. The cedi appreciated 6% over the last 12 calendar days. Out of those days it appreciated on 8 of the 12 days, depreciated on 2 days and went flat on another two. This is what the Bank of Ghana is using for its 2015 projections? How about inflation. What data does the BOG have when it's overpaid Research Research Department does not research; the Statistical Service computes inflation. So why is the Bank of Ghana making projections of data and results that they do not have?

BoG has no cause for jubilation, their policies didn't make the Cedi appreiate. The Cedi's appreciation was caused by normal correction in the economy.
Due to high inflation, many importers (especially car dealers oil marketing companies) have stopped their aggressive importation as the devaluation of the Cedi was creating losses in their international business transactions.
And, the rippling effect has a decrease in demand for the Dollar. When importers find reason to come back to market, it will resuscitate demand for the Dollar, and the devaluation problem will resurface again. So BoG needs to come out with real policies to solve the problem.

Do you mean you value gold upwards, when its price has taken a downward trend in recent years in the world market? Is it the practice of the BoG to revalue prices of commodities upwards when the contrary is the case on the market side? Again, how do you term it, when the credit (payment) side exceeds the debit (receipts) side of a cash book, surplus eh? If the BoG is confused like this, why shouldn't we be in a mess that the country is currently in? Come again, Mr Narh!

The performance of the government in power suggests it has not found an idea as to what to do to turn the economy around for better. So your assertion suggests that you are going to print more money to sore up the currency in mid-2015 just to fool the Ghanaian electorate once again. But you shall fail this time around, Insha Allah.

PRESIDENT MAHAMA IS A PROPHET. PRESIDENT MAHAMA HAD THE FORESIGHT TO CONCRETIZE CONFIDENCE IN PROPHET TERKPER BECAUSE HE KNEW DEEP DOWN IN HIS HEART THAT SETH CAN GET THE JOB DONE. NOW WE ARE SEEING THE BENEFITS OF MAHAMA'S WISDOM. THE ECONOMY IS TURNING AROUND. THE ECONOMY IS RECOVERING . THE NAYSAYERS ARE SCARED TO DEATH THAT MAHAMA IS GUARANTEED A SECOND TERM. I SPOKE TO A BLACK MARKET MAN YESTERDAY AND HE SAID "MY BROTHER, THE CEDI IS RISING, THE CEDI IS RISING, THE CEDI IS RISING LIKE A DETERMINED DICK. DOING WELL AGAINST THE FOREIGN CURRENCIES". LONG LIVE MAHAMA. LONG LIVE TERKPER. LONG LIVE GHANA.

As Prez Mahama reminded us a few months ago, Ghanaians have have short memories indeed. In the run up to the elections Prez Mahama said the country was not broke and that there was money in the system. After spending all our money on the 2012 elections we were told that the meat was all eaten and that the economy was down to just bones. Ghanaians started feeling the financial strain until the bank of Ghana introduced its draconian policies in February 2014 to try and prop up the cedi. This did not work and only worsened matters with the cedi continuing to fall to unprecedented levels against the major international currencies. His govt is now resorting to various economic engineering mechanisms including IMF bailout and easing of the bank of Ghana's Ill advised draconian policies in the hope that things will start turning around from 2015 and Ghanaians would forget what this incompetent Mahama led administration has done to our economy and to the average Ghanaian come 7 December 2016. I cann't stop crying for my people. In a way I can't help thinking that Ghanaians deserve what we get. For my people perish for a lack of knowledge - Hosea 4: 6
