Our banks are useless, just rake in money from fees and T Bills, that is all. The banks are incapable of loaning to government for large projects, hence government has to rely on foreign loans. What a shame!

There is nothing for the Banks in Ghana to be jubilating about. Why will they not rake in profits if all they do is to invest in Government treasury Bills, go to sleep and wait for the Government to pay them their returns of 25% every quarter?.
They have lost the CORE role or mandate in our society - to help the growth of our private sectors - NAMELY the manufacturing and industries sectors. They refuse to lend to these sectors period.

If your minimum balance fell below 500 cedis (even in a savings account they charged you). Our bankers are simply exploiting us.
