  Is the Commissioner General now coming to the realization that TAXES are NOT being paid by most entities?
  
  The Commissioner General says "The exercise is in partnership with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and has approval from the highest level of government, aimed at enabling the GRA to attain its goal of generating enough revenue for the state and also find ways of dealing with debtors that have long been on the Authority’s books."
  
  Does the GRA need 'APPROVAL' from 'the Highest Levels of Govt' and Collaboration with EOCO to do that which it is LEGALLY MANDATED and EXPECTED to do? Is EOCO Mandated by Law to collect Taxes or ENFORCE the TAX LAWS?
  
  I know the Commissioner General MEANS well but does he REALLY understand his role in Revenue Mobilization and TAX Administration?
  
  Why PARTNER with EOCO in this exercise? EOCO is NOT Mentioned anywhere in Public Law 330, the Governing LAW OF CEPS and those of the IRS and VAT.
  
  What the Commissioner General needs to do is to learn very fast CREATIVE ways and TOOLS available to the GRA under existing Tax Laws, and there are MANY, and where deficient, make needed proposals for possible codification.
  
  The GRA needs someone with a STRONG and PRACTICABLE Background in TAX LAW so that from the ONSET such COLLABORATIONS are TAILORED and STRATEGIZED to meet the necessary Legal Requisites.
  
  If any person arrested under this so-called collaboration decides to challenge the arrest in court, the GRA and Govt. will be very embarrassed. The Lawyers will simply ATTACK the EOCO's involvement in REVENUE ADMINISTRATION and the Judge will have NO CHOICE but to dismiss the ACTION because it is TAINTED with ILLEGALITY and is therefore fruit from a Poisonous Tree.

  EOCO officers pls do you know ur madates ? A tax collector ? oh ghana if no job for this people desolve the office and add them to GRA that will be better.
