GHANA'S HOPELESS ECONOMIC SITUATION, TODAY, IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. NDC HAS OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS PRESIDED OVER THE BIGGEST RESOURCES IN OUR HISTORY INCLUDING CRUDE OIL & STEALTH TAXES. THEY HAVE ALSO CONTRACTED THE BIGGEST LOANS IN OUR HISTORY. IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THIS AND THE ECONOMY IS IN SHAMBLES, THEN,THEY MUST BE PROSECUTED. LOOK AT GHANA;-- EMBRAER PLANE SCANDAL, STX KOREA,NDC US$20 MILLION PARTY HQ., US$4 MILLION DODGY JUDGEMENT DEBT TO MRS RAWLINGS AND HER COMPANY, SUBAH, GYEEDA, WOYOMI, ISOFOTON, WATERVILLE, AFRICA AUTOMOBILE, CP, SADA, FORTIZ/MERCHANT BANK,BRAZIL WORLD CUP SCANDAL, FREE EXPENSIVE CARS FOR CHIEFS, AKONFEM AND A HOST OF OTHER DODGY JUDGEMENT DEBT PAYMENTS. But, in any case, you are right, Gina. A private company will cut the supply to Parliament when Parliament refuses, or is unable to pay their light bills.
Opportunistic politicians in Ghana will talk about pre-paid meters, as if that is the cause of 'Dum-sor'. They will never mention their 'percentage' in the deal to rob users.

A private company will also sack incompetent and corrupt workers who think it is their right to 'steal' whatever belongs to the company paying their salary.

It is actually a pity, and a big shame, that politicians deliberately cause problems for an institution, and then lie to Ghanaians, that the institution is to blame for the mess.

IS THE PUBLIC AWARE THAT CURRENTLY, THE PRIVATE POWER GENERATION COMPANIES IN GHANA (INCLUDING THE BUI DAM BECAUSE OF ITS PRIVATE CAPITAL ELEMENT), CHARGE MUCH HIGHER TARIFFS THAN THE VRA WHICH IS 100% STATE OWNED? So after all said and done it has finally come to it and am so embarrassed that the party I voted for are is the very party that is leading the way in this nonsense when all we have to do is remove that stupid clause in our public labour law which states that no body can be fired from the public sector. That is it. No i saw this coming long agoe the very moment this on and off started that the very party i hard voted into office has become an errand boy party throwing our countrys very interest into the gutter and sticking to some American nonsense called MDA on power. Am shocked. First we did same to Ashanti gold fields and said that there will not be laying off then it came to Ghana telecom and here we have it that in all instances Ghanaians have been asked to go home filling all those positions with foreigners whilst the Ghanaian finance the Charade with our prepayments. Why not go after the mines and take all the owings there to make money available to ECG to operate, why are we Ghanaians always looking for the easy way out of a nonsense called a problem which we impose on our own selves. Look at the the telephony industry and know that we as people have done nothing to defend ourselves but only to open the doors for foreigners to constantly fuck us where the sun does not shine. An I was shocked yeasterday watching TV and seeing an elderly man telling us how this nonsense called what ever name is suppose to be done. What did we as apeople do wrong to deserve such a catastrophic tragedy called leadership. peoples moneys where used by Ghanas first president to school these IDIOTS we call grown ups only for them to come and throw it all to the dust just because they must steal to finance their lavish lifestyles. What in the name of God is this? Is the reason for which my great grand fathers caused commotions in goldcoast for to gain independence only for these numbskulls to come and mess it all up. Today Anglogold is laying off 3100 staff and telling us the mining sector is not profitable when in actual fact they are doing price fixing and using transfer pricing to steal the taxes the country need. Cant anybody from our business schools just look at case by case instances of theft and rape by these so called multinational companies like GLENCORE in Zambia and its replication by these other so called multinationals. This was how Ghanas interest in the mining sector was divested gradually and finally lost all meaningful shareholdings in Ashanti Goldfields and to top it of the man who lead the final nonsense, the so called Sir Sam Jonah had one of his sons incarcerated and the other given slow poisoned and killed through some bogus medical findings called heart attack. Similar thing is being repeated done by 'Mahama' somebody i voted into office.

Yes privatization is the way to go in this era of modernization when utilities are concerned but you do not do that with just one company you float it out to bring competition just as JJ did with mobile companies and whenever there is competition the consumers win because they always have several options.Here in the states I do not know the number of times that I have changed my water,electricity and mobile phone suppliers.I continue to shop around for better quality of service and better pricing.That is exactly what Ghana should be doing even long ago.Yes we are not used to that in Ghana so it may seem scary at first because people are always afraid of change but it is just simple if you continue to do things same old ways you will continue to get the same old results and we are all aware that the old methods has not helped and we continue to complain about dumsor dumsor please just do not be deceived by any regime that thinks it can be solved by the same old method of government being sole supplier.What our leaders should also try to eschew is to get serious and get in better world reputable companies from Britain,USA,Canada,Germany etc to come do better service and quit dealing with those mediocre companies just because of kick backs.That kick backs is what is retarding our nation.

It is very sad to witness shocking stupidity coming from soo called educated elit who is runing the affears of the country including institutions.The sad news is that these useless educated elit did not learn a lesson from Kosmos and Tullow when they avoid banks and high interest and go public to sell shares to rise money to expand their business.It is sad to see ECG following IMANI Boss Franklin Kojo nonsense ignorant advise to privatize ECG and such move is a recipe for disaster.Who is in his right mind will buy ECG for 20 to 30 years and then hand it over is that person or group of people sick in their mind or simple fools?ECG should go to Kosmos or Tullow for advice on how to sell or buy shares.This is what Government is doing buy selling bonds to raise capital for projects where banks interest rate are high.ECG should stop that nonsense and that alook at selling shares and appoint board members from those that buy the largest shares and put management at non-shareholds and they must be held accountable for failure.sell shares is always open.
