  The reason people say that Nkrumah must be forgiven is that Danquah virtually catapulted Nkrumah from oblivion into a respected Nationalist.
  
  Danquah brought Nkrumah back into Ghana upon the recommendation of Ako Adjei to serve as the general Secretary of the UGCC only for Nkrumah to break away to form his own party. Nkrumah negotiated for a good salary before coming down to Ghana.
  
  Nkrumah defeated Danquah in the polls.
  
  That is the issue.
