We are experts at discovering the wrongs in our socio-economic development and what has got to be done to correct them, but we fall short to implement the solution. Without doubt, a non-politicised and a vastly independent economic planning committee which would coordinate unfinished worthwhile projects could solve the problem. Every one knows that when any party takes power and begins a project and it loses the power before the project is completed, the party which takes over abandon that project and begins its own; and the vicious circle continues unabated. In a democracy such behaviour stifles development because the country's government is bound to change at some time, at elections.

In the 1960's -African Independence - Medium and Long Term Development Plans
