  Ghana's cocoa farmers do not necessarily need bonuses which are peanuts in spate of the current high school fees, medical bills, electricity bills, high cost of farm inputs, high cost of building materials but should be considered on grounds of decent standard of living. They should be placed on SSNIT pension scheme. The state does not even know them. There should be statistics on number of cocoa farmers in each cocoa growing districts and regions. This will help in making projections on the growth, pricing and farmer development etc .

  Current world market cocoa prices could support farmers well, however, the government circles need to be fed and oiled every single day. One day soon all production will go to the smugglers.

  When thievery is the main thrust of gov't policy, the country collapses. It is imperative the Mahama-led NDC gov't is jettisoned at the ballot box in 2016.
