  I think name-calling is completely uncalled for. Everyone party makes mistakes. Yes, the present government is making a lot of mistakes, but that does not warrant calling the President names.

  Ghana was not built by one tribe or one region alone. All successes were accomplished through the unity of all Ghanaians, and not by one tribe or region. Pepeni is in no way inferior to an Akan or any tribe. So is an Akan not superior to any other tribe. You find stupid people, in the same proportions, in every tribe. Let's cut out the nonsense.

  What is the meaning of tanii? Is it an insult? Believe me, all I know it means is someone from the north; just like saying Brongni or Asanteni, Dagarteni, Mossini, Nkranni or ayibgei. Please help me, thank you.

  What is fascinating is that in the midst of such verified incompetence, verified mismanagement, verified looting and plunder, verified cluelessness and lack of any vision whatsoever, which has resulted in Ghana's current collapsed state, such a party and gov't can talk of elections and the fact that Ghanaians should give them their mandate. Does the Mahama-led NDC gov't have no shame?
  The day this Mahama-led NDC gov't said they lacked credibility, confidence and were looking for a technical bailout was the day, they should have resigned and saved Ghana this unfathomable incompetence, crass looting and plunder, inimical mismanagement and unnecessary cluelessness.

  Currency devaluation or lowering of exchange rate is part of IMF's conditions for a bailout. This is done to boost exports (as our products would be cheaper for foreign markets) and to restrain imports (as it would cost more to import goods).
  Other conditions include raising of interest rates and privatisation. So don't be shocked if everything to do with electricity generation is privatised. I have always suspected that the dumsor crises is a deliberate propaganda to make the public agree to privatisation.

  Ghana's fiscal policy requires a physical approach combined with prudent monetary policy to move the country towards desired economic development. The gross excess and endemic corruption embedded in government expenditures have to go. Ghost salaries, apart from its illegality, may not even boost private consumption component of the GDP as end beneficiaries tend to stack them away in foreign bank accounts. The wide spread padding of government bills by corrupt officials must go along with the perpetrators; they are no good for the country. It will take a much leaner government to free resources for capital and infrastructural expenditure. Redundant government employees should be redirected into the private sector for training and redeployment. There are considerable opportunities in agriculture and agribusiness in this country which are untapped. Government houses, cars for ministers and other government officials should all go, unnecessary government official travels to collect per diem and bring impress expenses should all be cut out....and these are a few examples out of a million cases I am advocating that we should get physical and cut them out if we were to see any economic progress in our life time.
