  All customs officers look good and rich because of the corruption at the ports. Clearing goods at Tema Port is unnnecessarily too expensive, frustrating and cumbersome because of bribery and red-tapeism.

  Contrary to the believe that government makes more money at the port with high charges of duties and bureaucratic processes,government will rather make more money and reduce inflation if they liberalized the Port and allow more people to bring in goods. As it stands, Customs and the Port authorities collude with importers to evade duties.
