1: The Minister of State in charge of Public-Private Sector Rashid Pelpuo declared vividly that the time is ripe, red lips for a multi-billion dollar high speed rail system to connect Accra and Kumasi.

2: He went on to add that a proposal covering an ELEVATED TRANSPORT MASS transit commuter system connecting a NEWLY-DEVELOPED TRADE ZONE to the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

3: Lawrence J. Selevan - CEO of Chesterfield Faring Ltd (CFL) took over and continued that the RFP will cover a 120,000 square metre transit oriented development (TOD) in Accra plus a 65,000 square metre TOD in Kumasi. Each TOD will include shopping, public and private parks and gardens, office towers, a hotel with conference spaces, and the balance being residential towers (1,000 units) with full amenities. "We will be building beautiful sustainable 'cities within our city' that will be a model for all of Africa into the future". they both concluded.

The money may disappear, but there will be nothing to show for it.

Has it prompted you to think for even a second, how , and who should pay that loan for that rail system, under his own mentioned conditions?
How many stopover stations will be built in between? To maintain his target time for that journey (1.4 hours). And if not, how many passengers, paying how much for each ticket will be needed to repay the debt, plus maintenance and running costs

This Chesterfield Faring Ltd is not a credible entity. I spent over 25 years in investment banking in New York, specifically on Wall Street. This transaction is a potential "Judgement Debt" problem. The companies annual revenue is between $5mm to $10m. I has staff of 20. Why can't the government source funding to rehabilitate the existing rail lines. With this MOU, the government has already committed between $2m to $3m. Clearly, this is corruption. We should stop this transaction NOW.
