  UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS ABOUT 1.8% AND UNEMPLOYMENT IS ABOUT 62.5% - 70.1%. MOST OF THE EMPLOYED GHANAIANS ARE SELF-EMPLOYED. EXAMPLE, PEPPER, AND TOMATOES SELLERS.

Gov't putting a cap on public sector employment for the past 5 yrs has had dire consequences on employment figures. GSS must do a thorough research.

  That's what I was going to say. 5% is still implausible. The GSS is not fit for the purpose and needs a total overhaul of its leadership whom I think are politically motivated for their personal benefit

  Where does our government get their unemployment figures from? If it were true that our unemployed only stand at 5%, then we would been one of the best economies of the world. Does our government know how many of our so called university graduates don't have a job? About 70%, when people resort to selling dog chains and other things on the side of the road, is that considered employed?

  An unemployed person is one who does not work. A person who is doing voluntary unpaid work is employed.

  Assuming 15million people aged 15-100 years are working, how many work for government, for private companies or are self-employed?
  Can you provide a breakdown of these 3 categories?
  If you can provide this figures, then it will be easy to determine unemployment figures and the revenues to expect.

  Are these so called GSS sick in the head? I surely believe that all those people selling dog chains, gums,pepper, tomatoes,sim cards,handkerchiefs etc on the roads sides were all counted as being employed.
