  EPA must customize Akoben for small scale mining. At least this can change the mindset of unconditional criminalization of 'Galamsey'. The regulatory agencies are favoring the large mines too much, therefore to be blame for the crisscross confusion in the small scale mining.

  Akoben is an excellent program but EPA need to do more in terms improving physical inspection on mine sites to ensure companies are really doing the right things. The Inspectorate Division of the Mineral Commission does better and frequent physical inspections on mine sites than EPA. EPA need to make their presence felt on various mine sites in order to boost public and community confidence in the program.
