  I have never heard of cassava seeds in my life. We know that to plant cassava, you cut a stalk of the plant and place it on a mound for it to grow. Who created seeds for cassava the way Monsanto created seeds for potatoes?

  Our current crop yields are adequate; what impoverishes our farmers is NOT LOW crop yields (which are adequate) but rather outlets to the markets, (no roads), or processing (post harvest losses). Increase yields will NOT solve these problems for the farmer. RATHER THE POOR FARMER MAY HAVE TO BUY THE SEEDS AND FERTILIZERS FROM AN AMERICAN FIRM (eg. MONSANTO) NEXT TIME HE/SHE WANTS TO PLANT AGAIN.
