Who asked Dr Danaa to take sides in a chieftaincy dispute by solely declaring the chieftaincy status of the Americans illegal. Who sent the National Security Officials to go and harass the Americans. We all know the National Security Zombis like operating under the cover of darkness( you remember the Legon Toll Booth Saga) and their hatred for dogs is unimaginable( you remember NS official threatened to shoot and kill the dogs of the software designer of UG students' election). So if the dogs of the two American citizens were killed prior to their gruesome murder you can now see those behind the killing.

To begin with, we were intimidated by the USA to allow the Kosmos/EO-Group Contract stand, whatever the nature and severity of its defects.
So, the NDC also felt they would find their own means to equalize the perceived or condoned financial benefits the Kufuor-led NPP might have gained from that Contract defects with Kosmos via the EO-Group.
Unfortunately, it is the common Ghanaian that is being caught up in this Political game of 'financial equalization'.

Kosmos and some of the other oil companies operating in Ghana are US companies. According to US laws, any US company operating in a foreign country that is found to engage in corrupt practices in the foreign country is liable to prosecution in the US. So, this is the justification for the US Justice Department‘s involvement in this matter.
Although I'm a strong advocate of the respect of Ghana's sovereignty, yet I see this US’ move as a blessing in disguise for Ghana and Ghanaians. The corruption in Ghana is just too much. The corruption in the oil industry started way back in the Kufuor administration when the NPP signed dubious agreements with a number of foreign oil companies and Mr. Kufuor and some of his close friends and associates personally benefited from the various dubious deals. It will be in Ghana's interest if the US Justice Department's probe will uncover all the corrupt deals and bring those involved, including Mr. Kufuor himself, to book.
