Interesting Point! I don't see how gas from Qatar and other shale gas sources would be cheaper than gas produced from local fields. The most likely competing source is Nigeria. But recent experience have shown how unreliable the supply can be. In any case the development of any gas field should be linked to a firm gas sales contract. So I don't see the likelihood of any gas glut. On the contrary, we should rather be concerned with gas supply shortage in the medium term given the limited reserves associated with these fields in the face of the projected energy demand forecast. - Just a thought!
