  Now this system is being introduced to make way for some greedy bastards to manipulate the farmers and deprive them of their toil's reward.

  These people are never ready with timelines for projects.Just using words - the system will enhance this and that,the system will eliminate this and that.Is like answers to a test about the importance of cashless systems.

  Cashless payments system have been around for a long time now.The technologies and processes involved are well known and documented.Is only in Ghana we mystify everything,calling it an Innovative system.Just go ahead and implement this and stop the announcements and fanfares.Is a known technology the world over.Mediocrity in Ghana.

  Farmers sweat and at the end of the day don't get payment for their produce from purchasing clerks .. These clerks also make away with huge sums of of money creating huge losses for companies who then fold up and lay off thousands of workers ..This change has become a necessity and really hope it works .

  never heard of pre-paid credit or debit card???? Used every where in USA for poor people to load cash on their cards for later on internet use

  Unfortunately, this is the dumbness idea again by NDC government. Instead of using the banking system to help these farmers they are going to use a fucking telecommunication company. Where is their expertise in banking and finance huh? This is worse ever idea because the government doesn't have a clue the life of a cocoa farmer and Ghana Cocoa board is inept. I hope these farmers realize it and start getting rid of cocoa plants and grow other crops - at least they can sell it in the market place on their own terms. It's only in Ghana that people that have resources are getting displaced by unscrupulous NDC government. Sad, very sad indeed

  An electronic payment system does not mean that cash is not needed. Farmers need to convert the e-money in cash as most shops will not accept e-money as payment. As the system is operated by telecom companies, the e-money wil ...

  An electronic payment system does not mean that cash is not needed. Farmers need to convert the e-money in cash as most shops will not accept e-money as payment. As the system is operated by telecom companies, the e-money will have to be "exchanged" for cash, or lodged in a partnering bank or microfinance institutions. As always the challenges are in the network of cash agents and in reducing the fees.
