You are saying these out of ignorance because you have no knowledge of how the industry works but for you information,Sotuth African Airlimes already flies to Washington daily direct from Johannesburg which makes this not new and the place is a hub for United that the passengers connect with other flights in the US.
There are not that many flights out of Baltimore as compare to Washinton for the Star Alliane passengers,it is in the interest of passengers all over the US,not for just the few in Maryland,even there are some who are in Maryland who may prefer this airport to that of Baltimore.

South Africa had independence not quite long unlike Ghana yet they have managed to start a flight from Acc to Was . The NDC government must be ashamed for not being able to resuscitate the national airlines to operate this route ,its about national pride ,identity and profits.The benefit of SA operations will come from many Ghanaian who live in America and Canada to fly or use their services and not the nation in terms of revenue.
