My humble suggestion - 1. We need to start compulsory internship whiles in school and it must be agreement between universities, Polytechnics, colleges and prospective companies. 2. Our national service system must be change from what it is now to compulsory military so that every Ghanaian graduate can learn discipline. 3. We must introduce courses like Quality assurance as part of our educational curriculum in all aspect. Lastly, student politics must have limitations in our colleges, polytechnics and Universities. This is my personal thinking and from my experience working abroad with Israelis, Brazilians and Americans I hope my idea is good and this can help our dear country

I do agree that we are not serious in what we profess and what we do but we should agree to start from somewhere. I think the wholesale assumption that everyone could be bundled into one category of profession is wrong. There are lots of people who would rather branch into their own businesses other than showbiz and buying and selling.
Internship training exists (at least back in 1989-1991) in KNUST where Engineering students spend quality time at the industry learning their trades. I believe individual memorandum of understanding (MOU) should be created among institutions to offer the opportunity to the youth. The responsibility should be placed on the youth to attend the training. Yes, there will not be any monetary allowances but the takeaway is that the youth learn valuable lessons; discipline of holding a job, learning to be responsible, among others.
