The way it works, there really is no need for this decision to take over Nigerian airspace by Buhari. This is a dangerous expression of nationalistic effervescence.

Buhari, in spite of his much appreciated disciplinary attitude towards politics, is also known to conduct himself like a loose canon at times. West Africa should pay attention to this weakness of his before he throws the entire region into chaos.

But in a way, I can understand that obviously the image and reputation of Ghana has fallen so low that even Togo and Benin - countries where even before a plane takes off from there and reaches medium altitude, it is already in a neighboring country's airspace, wants to take over their own airspace. It really doesnt make any sense.

Ghana Flight information region (FIR) covers the upper space of Togo and Benin in addition to Ghana's own territory. The French are forcing the hands of Togo & Benin Govts to take their airspace and give it a phony french Comapany called ASECNA. ASECNA manages the airspace of most french speaking countries including Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina etc. The Nigerian manages their on airspace.If President Buhari mention something like taking over airspace that may be right but he is not referring taking Nigeria airspace from Ghana. I know what Buhari might be talking about for Ghana's national interest i will not discuss that part of the issue here. The writer should check his story well!!

Yes we are agree that our country is small in size by we as citizens are big in brains so despite efforts by the French govt hiding behind ASECNA with all its resources and ably supported by France have failed countless times to floor Ghana. So why can't Gh and Nigeria join resources to wave ASECNA who wants to infiltrate the Anglophones camp. If ASECNA suceeds in creating divisions among us, it will easy for the French to take is down One by One. So you don't Trust Gh, but you will Trust the French? Ok, when the day comes never say you were not told. Can you imagine Gh and Nigerian Air Force taking military exercises together and all our information is in the hands of the French govt? What is the distance between Togo and Benin and for that matter Togo and Ghana? As for the national carrier, good idea but bad people will ruin it again.
