I do not understand why someone is not able to point to the fact that the way things are going the the cedi will end up in the range of 4 to 6 cedis to the dollar by the end of the year. the fondermentals are not in place to stabilize the cedi. The way the government is trying to stabilize the cedi is artificial therefore it is not going to work. I understand some intervention is needed but any drastic measures not supported by economic reality will fail as evidenced by the recent measures of $20m daily jolt by BOG.

Even my 14-year old knows the fundamentals needed to stabilize the cedi are nonexistent.
Ghana's successive visionless leaders have collapsed all of those fundamentals in a frenzy of fraudulent divestment of Nkrumah's strategic state institutions.
Today, Ghana has become a shadow of itself. Even 24/7 affordable electricity and potable water supply to the entire Ghana has become a mammoth task to Ghana's useless successive leadership in 21st century Ghana.
Today, Ghana at night looks like a ghost town, with street lights turned off in the dark while armed robbers continue to have a field day.
I wonder why government had to invest so much money in street lights which are never turned on at night, anyway.
What a country And these are all happening in the midst of Ghana's diplomatic community and foreign businesses in Ghana.
What good story would they tell about Ghana when they leave that hopeless Ghana?
No wonder even Avram Grant continues to be an absentee Ghana BS coach.

The fundamentals of the economy is everything. That's something Nkrumah understood very well and his vision was about the fundamentals. Since his overthrow, we haven't had a single leader with any sensible vision.
