I'm at a loss to see how it would boost the economy. Presumably, all those shops would be full of imported goods, to the detriment of the domestic economy. Producing things us what boost any economy.

Market, which market? If it was going to boost the economy, why was it not built from 2009, so that if it will even take 4years to complete by 2013, it will be ready and boosting the economy, but at the time the economy has completely collapsed, the market is demolished, peoples livelihoods are affected, with the project expected to be fully completed in maybe 2020, and one year before NDC leaves office, John Mahama comes to say, the project will boost the economy? Does Mahama think there are fools in the Ashanti region?
Never in the history of this country has the Ashanti region been insulted in such a manner before, but 2016 is just here, it should come very, very quickly.

If it was going to boost the economy, why was it not started in 2009? By now it would have been ready, "boosting" the collapsed economy, not when the economy has collapsed and then you demolish the market, and project the market that would be fully completed maybe somewhere in 2020, and that will boost any economy or your shriveled brains cannot grasp that argument pilolo? I think you and John Mahama, think the Ashanti region is occupied by monkeys as you describe the people in Ashanti region right? In 2016, you will really know they are great monkeys.

What is the area being covered and how many traders would benefit as primary sellers? The design would leave developed countries to be jealous but we have seen it all in Ghana. The end results even if achievable are not sustainable. Let us go back to the basics and see how we could help the tomatoes, yam, fish and others sellers whose lives we can impact positive rather than waste money on just building they cannot afford to pay rent. Lets look at the market infrastructure like proper electric wiring, sheds, drainage, layouts, transport access and the likes. Get the priorities right first please. I would say waste of public money.

I hope the bidding for the project was competitive though because Brazil whose President has been sited for corruption and struggling with its own politicians for corrupt practices has now become Ghana's own "darling". The interior minister is also visiting Brazil to learn how prisons are constructed! Brazil all the way....no offences but what's going on? No wonder the Brazilian government did not charge the ghana government for money laundering when sacks load of dollars were airlifted to the country in the Brazil-gate scandal!!
